Request for Clarification on Applicability of OM dated 22-01-2025 to BSNL VRS Retirees - addressed to DDG (Estt) DOT
The recently issued OM dated 22nd January 2025, granting a notional increment to BSNL/MTNL retirees, has brought much-needed relief. However, it currently covers only those who retired on 31st January 2020 under superannuation, and not those who retired under the VRS 2019 scheme, even though they were due for the same increment on 1st February 2020. A similar case before the CAT Chandigarh was decided in favor of retirees under the VRS 2019 scheme, and the order has already been implemented. We request that the OM be clarified to include all VRS 2019 retirees, ensuring fairness and avoiding further litigation. Letter addressed is posted here.
