Department of Telecom sent a proposal to Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), for relaxation of affordability condition in DPE guidelines on implementation of 3rd PRC report for BSNL staff. As long as the affordability condition is insisted the pay revision in BSNL will remain a mirage. After dillydallying for some time the DPE has told DoT that any relaxation of the condition requires approval by the Cabinet.
It was a known fact. There is nothing new in it.
But, some friends say that DPE has cleared the permission to approach Cabinet! Is it a clearance? They want to give an impression that the proposal is cleared by DPE.

I am happy to note that Calicut branch in Kerala has today transferred a sum of Rs. 30000 to AIC Fund.Calicut has 610 members.Out of them, 583 are life Members and 27 annual members.
The branch is always active. Every month it holds general body meeting in which 150-200 members regularly attend. In special meetings the attendance goes to 450-500. Every year the branch collects more than Rs. 2 lakh from its members and distributes the amount to the poor hapless people in orphanages, leprosy rehabilitation centres, adivasi Kendra etc.
Calicut branch has a cultural wing. More than 20-25 members, including ladies and retired senior officers, present very attractive musical fete etc.
It is an inspiring experience to attend the functions of Calicut branch.
